How to Cook Shirataki Noodles?

There honestly is very little effort needed when it comes time to cook the gluten free pasta.

Let me warn you that the wet version has a pungent smell. Do not be shocked when you bust open the bag. Do not panic though! I will share how to remove the fermentation smell before cooking and eating.

Rinsing under cold water is ideal. Boil a pot of water on the stove. Once the water has come to a boil bathe the noodles for just under sixty seconds. Do not cook more than one minute. It could possibly change the texture. It may not be edible if it sits too long in the hot water. This is a winning way to eliminate that nasty fermentation smell. This only applies to all the versions that are packaged in the liquid formula.

Do your taste buds crave stir fried shirataki noodles? This is another quick but simple way to remove the dreadful scent. Get a fry pan and drop one to two tablespoons of organic olive oil into the pan or wok. Crank it up to a medium heat setting. Once it is beaming hot toss in the wet noodles and fry them on each side for one minute. Not a second longer! I try to get them a little crispy. Essentially this is pulling out the moisture and the water that is contained within them. Make sure not to excessively cook them during this process either.
